In our former blogs we have commented on other areas of the human character and nature. It would not be right not to comment on the emotions of man.
In my over 40 years of ministry, I have met all kinds of teachers, preachers, and ministry that speak of the condition of the emotions. There are those who feel they are straight from hell and they are a detriment to who we are and what we do. There are those who allow the emotions to lead them in everything consequently they do some confusing things and leave us puzzled as we observe their lives.
It is important that we realize that the emotions were given us by God. When He placed them within us, He called the whole package good. Man obviously, if he was a good product, declared so by God, came with an emotional component. This would point to the fact that God too has an emotional component. In the original man, before the fall, the emotions were balanced by logic and reason.
Dr. James Dobson wrote a book, and I agree with the question. It was entitled: "Emotions, Can You Trust Them?". I would hope your answer to that question would be know. Sometimes emotions are bang on, sometimes they are out to lunch without a sandwich.
Because this is a blog to make us think, I want to pose a question, until my next blog.
In making a decision, how do I weigh the emotional component, so my decision is balanced?
Dr. Bill
