Spritual Parallels to Recent Events.

As we have watched recent news events our hearts have been grieved at the needless death in the war between Israel and Hamas. We have watched as Israel did everything they could to keep casualties down and Hamas did everything they could to make sure the body count on their side was at its maximum including killing their own whom they suspected may have helped Israel. This was done without trial but in execution style.

In other news we have watched ISIS summarily kill innocent children and non-combatant adults just because they refused to become muslims. This shows the heart of the muslim religion that some still declare is a religion of peace.

Recently though, my eyes have been drawn to the invisible realm and the real war that is being reveal by the events on the visible realm. Scripture is clear that the earthly situations happen, mirroring something that is going on in the spirit.

God began to speak along these lines to me and show me the details of something He spoke years ago. When terrorism began to rise as a mode of warfare in the earth, the Lord spoke saying that the enemy had change his tactics of warfare and would now use terrorism principles. I acknowledged it with a spiritual OK, and watched to see. Because I did not recognize the new efforts of war by the enemy, I slacked off trying to discover the new warfare strategies.

Recently God asked me to take a sabbatical in order to write on Spiritual Warfare. This was a subject that I did not want to treat because some much has been written with only limited effect. God dealt strongly with me sending prophets in my life to remind me and tell me this writing was crucial and that I needed to set aside the time for God to lead me through the Battles of the Lord in scripture.

As I have walked through scripture considering "The Battles of The Lord", God has been unveiling a number of things that I had not noticed before, yet, I still was not seeing the whole terrorist tactics portion of what He spoke those years ago.

As the current War with Hamas and Israel broke out and the "tunnels" of terror were revealed some lights came on in my soul and spirit. God began to show me parallels that have massive implications for the enemy's attack on God's people both individual and corporate. Much of it is in the principles of the terror tunnels.

He showed me that much of Israel/The Church is unaware of what is going on in the realm of the invisible. They are looking at that which is in plain sight and judging progress by that. In order for a terrorist tunnel program to work, it has to be done in the dark, below the surface of the visible, and only those digging the tunnel and the planners know where it starts and where it goes to. The target is to keep it hidden as long as possible even after it is finished. It is to be used under cover of darkness in order to draw the least amount of attention and keep the element of surprise as part of the strategy.

The tunnels also are dug targeting a place far behind what is considered the front lines of the battle. Quick decisive strikes against Israel/The Individual/The Church are the plan. There may be these types of attacks multiple times before the tunnel is discovered and destroyed.

Once Israel discovered how Hamas was getting in and striking behind the front lines they were able to put boots on the ground and begin to look for and destroy the threat. Yet, the other day, Hamas boastfully allowed the Arab network in America to see the insides of a tunnel that was still working, flaunting in the world's face the fact that it still existed and had not been found.

As I considered this the Lord began to speak to me about the condition of the Church today. The enemy has been making inroad into the lives of the individuals and corporate bodies by this same strategy. Area's of the life we thought were already dealt with are being targeted by the enemy in our lives. Because we thought they were dealt with, the enemy tried to convince of that we had backslidden. Failing that he sent depression trying to say that the "work" we had done on it did not do anything and it was a waste of time. The truth was, that the enemy was able to tunnel in our lives and relative peace on the surface caused us to feel we were secure from attack in those areas of our lives.

The truth is, that the enemy has taken years, working to tunnel to areas where we are not on guard. By attacking from these tunnel exits in deeper areas in our lives that we thought were secure, he takes us off guard and plant feelings of insecurity and doubt in our hearts and minds. It also distracts from what we feel is the "front line" of battle causing us to divide our energies weakening our ability to fight the enemy.

How do we battle this enemy who can strike in multiple areas at a time?

Like Israel, we need to keep up the air attack, which can be likened to prayer and intercession attacks against the positions we know the enemy is shooting from. Another thing we need to do though is ask the Holy Spirit to teach our hands to war and our fingers to fight this new type of warfare, knowing that nothing is sacred to the enemy. He will attack by religious spirit, through wounds of the past that have not been dealt with yet, He, through his attacks try to cause us to second guess our decisions which brings an instability.

It is very important that we become aware of the tactics so that we can stand against this type of warfare and as Israel's Prime Minister, become resolute in our attitude that we will not back down but move forward on all fronts, asking the Holy Spirit to lead us to the tunnels of the enemy and asking Him how to destroy them. All of the enemy's energies are focused on sending missiles into our lives to keep us unsettled. These may be being sent to distract us from where the tunnel exits will emerge in another area of our lives so the enemy can cause damage in those unsuspected areas. Lord give us wisdom!

This article is not to explain it all but to bring us to an awareness and a relationship with the Holy Spirit that will cause us to cry out for wisdom and insight into how to destroy the works of the enemy in our lives and the lives of the Church.
