Mar 1:22 And they were astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as one that had authority, and not as the scribes.
There is no indication that the scribes did not teach truth. In fact, at one point Jesus says, in essence, do what they say, but not what they do.
Mat 23:2-4 KJV Saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat: (3) All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not. (4) For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers. This is ever condition of those who have that attitude. They may teach that which is true. Like Nicodemus, who was a ruler in Israel, although they know and teach the law, they do not know the spirit of it.
Jesus said to him,
Joh 3:9 KJV Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be? 10 Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things? This passage indicates that this man, a master teacher, should have known these things. Again, Nicodemus was a leader and teacher, and taught the scripture, but, it did not have the authority that Jesus had when saying the same things. Some say it is because He was the Son of God, yet, when on earth He did not use any of that power or authority. His authority came from having let God work in His life, the words He was speaking. He lived what He taught.
Note:
Joh 1:4 KJV In him was life; and the life was the light of men. What made the difference between, all these others and Jesus. I believe this is found in our closing scripture.
Jude 1:22 And of some have compassion, making a difference:Jesus had compassion that flowed through the words He said.
Compassion is Love with the answer!
Every time scripture said Jesus was moved with compassion it follows with and action of healing, deliverance, or some other flow of loving action that set people free.
Lord we need a people who go beyond love, into compassion. Lord, raise up compassion in your ministry and your people I pray.
